Aveyron Paris

The saga of Aveyronnais of Paris

On the picture, see our friend Raymond Costes, who was during score of years “garçon » aux Deux Magots, a real Aveyronnais of Paris.

This community is as structured as any of others communities living in Paris, for example, the Jewish community,  the Basques, or the Armenians. They have their own clubs and associations, with their leaders, their customs, and their special meeting places. And then of course there are the traditions they continue to hand down with pride. For example, they have their time-honoured musical instrument, the « cabrette », which resembles the bagpipes, and their “aligot”, a local gastronomic speciality. By respecting these ancient customs and traditions, the Aveyronnais sustain a certain unity of interests and preserve the memories of their colorful villages.
