The Lot River rises in Mont Lozère in the Cévennes mountains. It flows through the Aveyron departement and is bordered by interesting villages in pleasant surroundings, many of which are classified historically:
Espalion,
Estaing,
Saint-Côme d’Olt,
Sainte-Eulalie d’Olt,
Entraygues,
Saint-Geniez d’Olt.
Between Estaing and Espalion, the lot river is a part of the route of Saint-Jacques de Compostelle. Nowadays more and more pilgrims, are walking in theses areas. It is one of the most beautiful part of the way , especially before arriving in Conques.
