Sports and leisure

You can go fresh-water fishing on the shaded banks of the Aveyron rivers, streams and lakes. The Millavois region is one of the European cradles of hang-gliding and paragliding. Its geographic situation – set in a huge basin at the crossroads of the vast limestone plateaux of the Causses – offers all the opportunities of an ideal site for taking off under the best security conditions.

And the gushing waters of the Tarn and Lot rivers provide sensational settings for water-sports lovers in search of adventure and excitement, particularly at the Gorges of the Tarn and the Lot. Activities range from canoeing and kayaking to rafting, or rowing leisurely. There are also many artificial lakes where you can practice all the water sports that you like. The network of cycling routes is so rich, you can cycle around the Aveyron on bicycle or mountain bike. And there are hundreds of miles of well-maintained footpaths for the rambler to discover the breathtaking scenery of the Aveyron, in quiet and in total freedom.
The mountainous regions of the Aveyron provide a large number of climbing sites and an amazing subterranean world.
